I love using lots of stickers on messaging apps, when I realized I could upload my stickers to Line (the most popular messaging app in Japan) I set out to create che-che and riri!

To start my design process, I chose the key emotions/messages I wanted to include in my sticker sets and I planned out the key characteristics of the characters.

I chose to make a set of humanoid cherry twins because I thought the concept of 2 people (cherries) that were opposites in personality but always stuck together would make an interesting dynamic.
After the concept was decided, I started sketching!

I used Adobe Illustrator to create the final copies of the stickers. I experimented with several colour palettes and then went about making my sketches come to life!

And here is the final line-up of stickers!
I am very happy that I was able to come up with 24 unique designs. From this project, I have continued to improve my Illustrator skills and familiarity with the software and overall it was something fun and a way to use my creative skills to make something that people could use in their daily lives!

I also recently created a second set of stickers based on an idea I had of making a set based on parodying swear words. Due to the nature of the set, however, it was not accepted 🥲. But here are a few designs!
